The Republic of Angola (Portuguese: A Rep ú blica de Angola, English: The Republic of Angola), abbreviated as Angola, is located in southwestern Africa, adjacent to Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the north, Zambia to the east, Namibia to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Most of the northern regions have a Savanna climate, the southern regions have a subtropical climate, and the high-altitude regions have a temperate climate. Mainly composed of plains, hills, and plateaus. The total area is 1246700 square kilometers, divided into 18 provinces in the country, with the capital Luanda and a population of 32.1 million (2021), mainly including ethnic groups such as Ovimbondu, Mbondu, Bagango, and Lunda.

In 1482, the Portuguese colonial fleet first arrived and in 1576, the city of Luanda was established. Angola was designated as a Portuguese colony from 1884 to 1885. In 1951, Portugal renamed An as an "overseas province" and sent a governor to rule. Since the 1950s, Angola has established three national liberation organizations and launched armed struggles for national independence in the 1960s. On November 11, 1975, the People's Republic of Angola was announced by the People's Movement of Angola. In August 1992, the Angolan parliament changed the country's name to the Republic of Angola.
